Meals and sample menus at Higher Broughton Nursery

We will discuss any dietary, medical or cultural needs with you when your child starts nursery. We have a five star hygiene rating.

Full day:

  • breakfast (8am to 9am)
  • two course lunch
  • afternoon snack
  • two course light tea

Morning session:

  • breakfast
  • two course lunch

Afternoon session:

  • afternoon snack
  • two course light tea

Water and milk is provided throughout the day.

Monday

  • Lunch: Chicken Korma served with brown rice and homemade naan bread
  • Dessert: Ice cream and wafer
  • Tea: Tuna, sweetcorn pasta salad
  • Dessert: Yoghurt and biscuit

Tuesday

  • Lunch: Pasta bolognese, garlic bread with a side salad of tomatoes, cucumber and peppers
  • Dessert: Jelly and fruit
  • Tea: Roasted chickpeas and vegetable cous cous salad
  • Dessert: Lemon cookie

Wednesday

  • Lunch: Roast turkey served with boiled potatoes, carrots, cabbage and gravy
  • Dessert: Rhubarb crumble and custard
  • Tea: Egg mayonnaise sandwiches
  • Dessert: Sliced melon

Thursday

  • Lunch: Homemade fish pie served with diced carrots and green beans
  • Dessert: Banana flapjack and natural yoghurt
  • Tea: Chicken and vegetable orzo pasta
  • Dessert: Fruit salad

Friday

  • Lunch: Jacket potatoes with vegetable chilli and chick peas, 
  • Dessert: Carrot cake
  • Tea: Cheese wraps with crudités
  • Dessert: Yoghurt

Monday

  • Lunch: Cottage pie with carrots and cauliflower
  • Dessert: Cherry biscuit and greek yoghurt
  • Tea: Selection of sandwiches with sliced tomatoes
  • Dessert: Blueberry muffin

Tuesday

  • Lunch: Homemade broccoli quiche served with creamed potatoes and baked beans
  • Dessert: Rice pudding served with peach puree
  • Tea: Tuna, pasta in a tomato sauce
  • Dessert: Jelly served with evaporated milk

Wednesday

  • Lunch: Fresh homemade meatballs with a fresh tomato sauce, wholegrain pasta
  • Dessert: Bananas and custard
  • Tea: Roast chicken pieces served with potato salad, 
  • Dessert: Yoghurt and fresh fruit salad

Thursday

  • Lunch: Roast chicken, roast potatoes served with carrot and swede and gravy
  • Dessert: Oaty apple crumble
  • Tea: Hard boiled eggs, ham slices, cucumber sticks and a mayo dip with brown bread
  • Dessert: Short bread biscuit

Friday

  • Lunch: Poached white fish, parsley sauce served with boiled potatoes, broccoli and sweetcorn
  • Dessert: Lemon drizzle cake
  • Tea: Mini pizza, salad and homemade coleslaw
  • Dessert: Sliced pineapple

Monday

  • Lunch: Lentil and vegetable lasagne served with garlic bread
  • Dessert: Fresh lemon mousse
  • Tea: Tuna wraps and salad
  • Dessert: Banana muffin

Tuesday

  • Lunch: Hotpot with herby dumplings and beetroot
  • Dessert: Stewed fruit served with custard
  • Tea: Homemade cheese and onion quiche served with salad
  • Dessert: Jelly

Wednesday

  • Lunch: Roast beef served with mashed potatoes, sprouts and gravy
  • Dessert: Artic roll
  • Tea: Herby pilchard pasta salad
  • Dessert: Crunchy pear crumble

Thursday

  • Lunch: Mediterranean chicken with rice
  • Dessert: Frozen yoghurt and ginger biscuits
  • Tea: Roasted vegetables (red pepper butternut squash, tomato and Red onion) hummous and pitta breads
  • Dessert: Apple pie served with evaporated milk

Friday

  • Lunch: Chickpea vegetable rogan josh and homemade potato wedges, 
  • Dessert: Tea loaf
  • Tea: Selection of sandwiches and crudities
  • Dessert: Cheesecake
