Meals and sample menus at Barton Moss Nursery

We will discuss any dietary, medical or cultural needs with you when your child starts nursery. We have a five star hygiene rating.

Full day:

  • breakfast (8am to 9am)
  • two course lunch
  • afternoon snack
  • two course light tea

Morning session:

  • breakfast
  • two course lunch

Afternoon session:

  • afternoon snack
  • two course light tea

Water and milk is provided throughout the day.

Monday

  • Breakfast, 8am to 8.30am: Breakfast bar style breakfast with a selection of cereals and toast
  • Snack, 10am: Rice cakes and spread
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Chicken Korma served with brown rice and homemade naan bread, ice cream and wafer
  • Snack, 2pm: Apples
  • Light tea, 4pm: Tuna, sweetcorn pasta salad, yoghurt and biscuit

Tuesday

  • Breakfast, 8am to 8.30am: Breakfast bar style breakfast with a selection of cereals and bagels
  • Snack, 10am: Oranges
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Pasta bolognese, garlic bread with a side salad of tomatoes, cucumber and peppers,
    jelly and fruit
  • Snack, 2pm: Breadsticks
  • Light tea, 4pm: Roasted chickpeas and vegetable cous cous salad, lemon cookie

Wednesday

  • Breakfast, 8am to 8.30am: Breakfast bar style breakfast with a selection of cereals and muffins
  • Snack, 10am: Crackers and cheese spread
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Roast turkey served with boiled potatoes, carrots, cabbage and gravy, rhubarb crumble and custard
  • Snack, 2pm: Cucumber sticks
  • Light tea, 4pm: Egg mayonnaise sandwiches, sliced melon

Thursday

  • Breakfast, 8am to 8.30am: Breakfast bar style breakfast with a selection of cereals and potato cakes
  • Snack, 10am: Carrot sticks
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Homemade fish pie served with diced carrots and green beans, banana flapjack and natural yoghurt
  • Snack, 2pm: Homemade bread
  • Light tea, 4pm: Chicken and vegetable orzo pasta, fruit salad

Friday

  • Breakfast, 8am to 8.30am: Breakfast Bar Style breakfast with a selection of cereals and toast
  • Snack, 10am: Pears
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Jacket potatoes with vegetable chilli and chick peas, carrot cake
  • Snack, 2pm: Malt Loaf and spread
  • Light tea, 4pm: Cheese wraps with crudités, yoghurt

Monday

  • Breakfast, 8am to 8.30am: Breakfast bar style breakfast with a selection of cereals and bagels
  • Snack, 10am: Cucumber sticks
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Cottage pie with carrots and cauliflower, cherry biscuit and greek yoghurt
  • Snack, 2pm: Malt loaf and spread
  • Light tea, 4pm: Selection of sandwiches with sliced tomatoes, blueberry muffin

Tuesday

  • Breakfast, 8am to 8.30am: Breakfast bar style breakfast with a selection of cereals and toast
  • Snack, 10am: Rice cakes
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Homemade broccoli quiche served with creamed potatoes and baked beans, rice pudding served with peach puree
  • Snack, 2pm: Oranges
  • Light tea, 4pm: Tuna, pasta in a tomato sauce, jelly served with evaporated milk

Wednesday

  • Breakfast, 8am to 8.30am: Breakfast bar style breakfast with a selection of cereals and potato cakes
  • Snack, 10am: Carrot sticks
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Fresh homemade meatballs with a fresh tomato sauce, wholegrain pasta, bananas and custard
  • Snack, 2pm: Breadsticks
  • Light tea, 4pm: Roast chicken pieces served with potato salad, yoghurt and fresh fruit salad

Thursday

  • Breakfast, 8am to 8.30am: Breakfast bar style breakfast with a selection of cereals and toast
  • Snack, 10am: Homemade bread rolls
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Roast chicken, roast potatoes served with carrot and swede and gravy, oaty apple crumble
  • Snack, 2pm: Pears
  • Light tea, 4pm: Hard boiled eggs, ham slices, cucumber sticks and a mayo dip with brown bread, short bread biscuit

Friday

  • Breakfast, 8am to 8.30am: Breakfast bar style breakfast with a selection of cereals and muffins
  • Snack, 10am: Apples
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Poached white fish, parsley sauce served with boiled potatoes, broccoli and sweetcorn, lemon drizzle cake
  • Snack, 2pm: Crackers with cheese triangles
  • Light tea, 4pm: Mini pizza, salad and homemade coleslaw, sliced pineapple 

Monday

  • Breakfast, 8am to 8.30am: Breakfast bar style breakfast with a selection of cereals and potato cakes
  • Snack, 10am: Pears
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Lentil and vegetable lasagne served with garlic bread, fresh lemon mousse
  • Snack, 2pm: Crackers and cheese
  • Light tea, 4pm: Tuna wraps and salad, banana muffin

Tuesday

  • Snack, 10am: Homemade fresh bread
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Hotpot with herby dumplings and beetroot, stewed fruit served with custard
  • Snack, 2pm: Apples
  • Light tea, 4pm: Homemade cheese and onion quiche served with salad, jelly

Wednesday

  • Breakfast, 8am to 8.30am: Breakfast bar style breakfast with a selection of cereals and toast
  • Snack, 10am: Cucumber sticks
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Roast beef served with mashed potatoes, sprouts and gravy, artic roll
  • Snack, 2pm: Malt loaf
  • Light tea, 4pm: Herby pilchard pasta salad, crunchy pear crumble 

Thursday

  • Snack, 10am: Breadsticks
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Mediterranean chicken with rice, frozen yoghurt and ginger biscuits
  • Snack, 2pm: Oranges
  • Light tea, 4pm: Roasted vegetables (red pepper butternut squash, tomato and Red onion) hummous and pitta breads, apple pie served with evaporated milk

Friday

  • Breakfast, 8am to 8.30am: Breakfast Bar Style breakfast with a selection of cereals and muffins
  • Snack, 10am: Apples
  • Lunch: 12 noon: Chickpea vegetable rogan josh and homemade potato wedges, tea loaf
  • Snack, 2pm: Rice cakes
  • Light tea, 4pm: Selection of sandwiches and crudities, cheesecake
